NBD - Bass Centre "Betsy"

Arrived yesterday, my 7th bass since I started playing 12 months ago  🤦‍♂️

As a huge Guy Pratt fan I finally had to gave in to temptation and ordered a Betsy from The Bass Centre and it's proved to be a good decision.

Setup was perfect straight out of the box, the quality of the build and finish is superb, and the playability and tone far exceed what I expected from a bass at this price point.

Back in the early 2000's, I worked at Guitar Center in Denver.
There was a collector who would come in with his recent purchases.

One of the instruments he brought in was a pink 1960 (stack knob) Jazz Bass he bought from Guy Pratt.
The bass was in a well-worn road case stenciled "Pink Floyd" and labeled with barcode inventory control stickers.

I'm more of a P-Bass guy than a Jazz guy.
But the reason I can still remember the physical sensation of playing that bass is because it had TONS of mojo and practically played itself.

If Betsy is ANYTHING like Guy's former 19060 Jazz, it's a keeper!

Well I'm very envious of anyone who has a genuine Guy Pratt bass, but my Betsy is definitely a keeper. My first bass was a Sire V3 Jazz bass and although I have an emotional attachment to it as it was my first, I just never really gelled with it, maybe it's the active EQ or something but as I've acquired other guitars I find myself not picking it up to play, I thought maybe I wasn't a jazz bass person, but this one, wow!

Seven basses in twelve months??? Wow talk about getting into the Talkbass program! I vote member of the year for you.
If you live in US or Canada how how long did shipping take and what condition was box in when it arrived? Any others shipping from London?

Congratulations on the new bass!!! I've always been intrigued by these and the Bruce Thomas P. Do you know by chance if the frets are vintage (narrow/tall)? I'd love to check one of these out someday. Enjoy it!

P.S. - Did you get the book too?
