Anyone who knows me knows my affinity for Bluesman Vintage basses. John Scott runs a really cool shop outside of Nashville. He builds lightweight FSOs that have been played on hundreds of hits coming out of Music City.

This is a Bluesman Vintage 2T. It weighs 8lb 2oz and is a lovely custom shade of 'surf-foam' green. It has a 1.625” nut, roasted flame maple, thin-C neck and Lollar t-bird pickups. It’s about a year old… purchased from a great dude here on TB classifieds.

I’ve owned a similar bass before. I let it go in the midst of my GAS frenzy (like a dumb@$$). This one’s even nicer than mine. Glad to have it back in the rack!!

I hope you’ll say it’s strung with flats…please? …pretty please…?

My last one had TI flats. It was legit. I'm gonna start with some Curt Mangan nickel rounds, but I have a feeling this might eventually get some LaBella LTFs.
Excellent choice! Another of my favorite strings is the Roto RS55LC or D whatever they call them. They are a hybrid string. Give the performance of rounds but aren’t. They won’t chew frets
Good luck

I've listened to many of Jacob Lowery's recordings where he's using this same model bass with the Lollar T-Bird pickups. Plus, he de-tunes 1/2 a step. Those Lollar PUs are a whole lot more $$ than Precision style - do YOU think there's a compelling difference from your use? Just rarely ever see Lollar's used in P-basses and custom builds. I've been to John's shop in Nashville - live @ an hour away. He worked on my G&L SB-1 1986 - he's quite a character. Talk to us about the Lollars...
