NBD: Bongo 6

Well, it finally happened. I ordered my first new USA made bass over the holidays from Sweetwater. Was able to get a pretty solid discount so I went for it and got a brand new EBMM Bongo 6 in Blood Orange 🤤. I am loving the sparkle in the paint.

It sounds incredible, and is lighter than my Stingray 5. I’m really enjoying playing with the 4 band to see what all kinds of sounds I can pull out of it, and holy sh*t the bass response is thunderous!!
I will have to practice muting with the extra string but it all feels pretty intuitive to play. It still feels like a bass! Cant imagine asking for more from an instrument.

Congrats on your new Bongo 6! Play it in good health and have fun! The Blood Orange finish is STUNNING! :drool:

There was another thread recently about someone asking about this bass vs. a Dingwall. Someone there posted a video of Johnny Lee Long playing a Bongo 6 and loving it. He said that playing this bass was like driving a high end BMW with a LOT of power. His video and now this post are making me GAS for one of these (or the 4 string version).

Cool basses! I love the shape of headstock!
Oddly enough, I hated the design when they first came out but love it now. I guess that I just had to get use to the contemporary look.
I actually played my first one two weeks ago in a shop in Alabama. It was one of the 5 string stealth models. I loved the look and sound of it.

Thank you. I’m loving the finish.
I think that’s a good description it has a ton of power and is also incredibly sensitive to playing dynamics so it’s already encouraging me to play with a softer touch. It’s a special beast for sure

Yeah they grow on you, those stealths are cool! If Batman had a bass
