NBD - but a sad story

In an attempt to try to forget my troubles for a while (my spouse recently passed away unexpectedly) I took my twin eight year old daughters out for a shopping/lunch outing. In the process I wandered into my local Sam Ash store and walked out with this Spector Legend Classic 5. It's really nice and at least momentarily I can distract myself.

One thing I will say is to never take anything or anyone for granted because you never know when it will be the last time.

So sorry for your loss! I just lost my Dad on Thanksgiving day which has been tough. I have been buying some new gear too which does seem to help keep the mind on something positive.

And music is a great healer too as we all know!

Beautiful bass! Hopefully it will inspire you to write some music about your loss. Always a good idea and can often result in some special original material that in turn can help with the loss.

sorry for your loss indeed.... having something positive to put your energies is essential now. Sounds like with twin 8 year old girls you certainly are blessed in that department. Hoping that your new bass can provide a distraction and in turn help to comfort you in some way.....

My deepest sympathy for you and your family I can only express as sincerely as possible thru words. I send a multitude of prayers your way. May the God of all (including bass) carry you through some of the most difficult times in your life. Being one who doesn't believe in coincidence, I ask you to look concisely for the true, most certain deep meaning of that guitar. Why that bass? A million things going through your mind at the time... what led you to her? Synergize with the force that helped you pick such beauty in an instrument...

An instrument that sends out soundwaves that although you can't see, are always there ;)

Thanks everyone for your kind thoughts. Just got back from Mass and it was bittersweet to see all the mom's and dad's with their kids. I do feel closer to my wife when I am in church. Also, my daughters have been amazing these last couple of weeks.

Give thanks for everything and love to all those around you every day. You may not get another chance.

I am so sorry. May you and your girls find peace and solace in remembrance. And all those people who are telling you "if there's ever anything I can do for you..." ? Take them up on it. People do want to help but seldom know how / what / when. Surround yourself with people who can support you.

About that bass: My basses are "racecar" basses rather than "coffee table" basses, and I like it that way. But that is one of the most beautiful coffee tables I've ever seen! Enjoy.
