So this just showed up today but was scheduled to be delivered tomorrow which completely caught me by surprise this morning. I've really been wanting Fender to put out another '51 reissue since they discontinued them a long while back. I've been kicking myself for not grabbing one way back then but such is GAS life. I have never bought a Squier before but the reviews on this model have been off the charts so I thought what a great, inexpensive early birthday present to myself since I've literally had a fascination with the original precision design since the early days of ZZ top and later on Sting. I have to say WOW. I apologize that the picture isn't the best due to the lighting in the room but man, this was set up perfectly right out of the box and was practically in tune as well. I decided to take off the pickguard for the time being and I'm so happy there is no routing underneath. The finish on the neck and body are excellent and the weight just slightly under 9lbs. Looks fantasic, sounds fantastic. I have a new found respect for Squier after this. They really are making really good, affordable instruments these days. Happy early b-day to me!
