NBD - Dingwall Combustion Nashville 6

I received my Combustion Nashville 6 (black burst) from Sweetwater a little over a week ago and I am impressed! I had never played a Dingwall bass until my brother in law got his JT signature 5, and was impressed with it. Sweetwater has been discounting some of these Nashville Combustions every weekend by about $700-$900 or so, so I decided to try one out, and I'm now a believer!
This thing has 7 completely different sounds you can get out of it, even before messing with the preamp or master tone control. It puts out very convincing P bass tones, J bass tones, and just about anything you'd ever need in between.
The master tone control works beautifully in both active and passive, fret work is great, weight is just a hair over 10lbs, and overall QC is basically perfect. The general factory setup was good, but, my preference is a lower action. I tightened the truss rod just a bit, lowered the action on each string, and raised the pickups to my liking, and now she plays flawlessly!
I'm typically an Ibanez guy (I absolutely LOVE my Ibanez basses), but after playing this bass, I totally get the hype now!
I added the liquid swirl neck illusion block markers to give the maple board a bit more character, and I personally think they look great on it.
If you're on the fence about one of these, just take the leap and get one. You will not be disappointed!

overall QC is basically perfect.

Any idea where I can get a clear one? I haven't been able to find anything online as of yet. Also, here's what it looks like underneath the current pickguard.

Cool bass! I would forgo putting any pickguard on it. Looks great without.

@Bassplayer1586 wdmusic.com made a custom pickguard for my NG3-5. Can't see why they wouldn't be able to for the Nashville. Though, for the best quality I'd recommend sending your original one to them so they can trace it EXACTLY. It's what I did and am very happy with the results

No problem! Quite envious of you being able to achieve my 2 favorite pickup combinations without swapping the pickups around. Neck/Bridge parallel and Middle/Bridge parallel. Middle pickup solo sounds killer too. Not a lot of demos on YouTube of the Nashville showcasing the Neve pre. That fat low shelf Bass control sounds killer on the Canadian made versions (at least that I've heard on YouTube).

Yeah all three of those pickup combos you mentioned sound great. Bridge and middle is killer for playing anything heavy, even the middle by itself is great and really cuts through as well.

The Neve preamp, when activated and even set flat, gives a very slightly different tonal character to the pickups, compared to passive mode. They get just a slightly deeper/fuller sound to them.

The block markers are from Neck Illusions. They are just vinyl stickers, but definitely add some character to the maple. Super easy to install them as well. Didn't even have to take the strings off! They have a section on the site specifically for Dingwall basses, and a TON of options. Mine is "liquid swirl" in black/light black.
