So on Friday a friend finally talked me into selling him my Rickenbacker 4003 Matte black (I haven't been playing it since I got one in Ruby Red...) That same evening, with the cash still in my pocket, I saw a new listing from a guy not ten minutes from my house selling this Dingwall NG2. It had dead strings, dead batteries (So I couldn't even test the preamp), Higher-than-I-prefer action, but I figured what the hell nothing I can't fix. I won't take a huge hit if I don't like it and want to resell it. I restrung it ( he did include three sets of Dingwall strings), Lowered the action, replaced the batteries, then took it to the gig. Played it for all 4 hours and I am really liking it. I am not loving the Darkglass pre amp, but Ill figure that out soon enough (or replace it). But the lower strings? OMG loving that 37" B string. I did order some lower gauged strings that I'm thinking I might like even more. I'll take pics of just the bass later, but my wife took a couple of me sound checking and then during the gig. (bad timing...I don't always play with my eyes closed)
