Picked this up last week and used it on an event gig this weekend at a winery. I'd never heard of them before and have been looking for a 51 style and this looked unique so I grabbed it. Brought a Mesa 15 Scout and the combo blew everyone away. Expecting the big growly lows, and got them but what was surprising were the great mids and highs.
When I got it I had plans of a Fralin split pup and an Audere 4 but so far there's no need. The pup measures just at 9 so its strong enough. This week I'll check my impressions in the studio and see if it was just the venue and my enthusiasm or is it perfect as is. I'll post a follow up.

From the manufacturer:
The Barnstormer series features bodies built from sections of 2×4 or 2×6 rafters, hollowed out to reduce weight, and are available in beech, oak and elm. Original saw marks are left showing, and lightly sanded to accentuate them. The finish is a flat waterborne varnish, which keeps the rough sawn look while providing a smooth and comfortable feel. All Barnstormers can also be custom ordered with plain slab or barnwood topped bodies. The necks are either one piece or laminated, and attached to the body with a full width mortise and tenon joint. The distinctive Barnstormer headstock sits a quarter inch further back than a typical inline headstock and features Hipshot or Sperzel tuners with graduated height posts, eliminating the need for string retainers.
