To me an SR5 as just as classic as any other bass. I guess it could be called a "modern" classic though.
Yeah, I'd agree that the StingRay has earned it's place among pro quality basses - I know I'm happy to have one...

Great-looking bass. Congratulations! Now, does it have the 19mm spacing?
I thought the only finish you could get with a roasted neck was "Black Sugar".... perhaps someone swapped necks?
This is a special edition made only for GC. I actually played this exact bass, and was very close to buying it. I just couldn't get used to the glossy neck.
For your first EBMM you have made QUITE the purchase.
CONGRATS!
* Adds dimensional stability and resistance to temperature and humidity changes
* Increases resistance to warping
* Reduces density while maintaining stiffness for a lighter neck with sufficient strength
* Yields a microstructure similar to naturally aged woods with lower moisture content
* More resonance and less damping
* Eliminates the need for hazardous chemical treatments
* Vibrational testing indicates that roasted maple exhibits clearer tone with a stronger fundamental than untreated maple samples
Is there any truth to any of this? Seems like a bunch of BS. Not that it matters because it looks so damn good!
Man, am I jealous right now. Looks so sexy
I don't know - Sadowsky doesn't seem to thing it's BS, and they're generally known for making high quality instruments(as is EBMM)
