NBD: EBMM Roasted Content

I thought the only finish you could get with a roasted neck was "Black Sugar".... perhaps someone swapped necks?

Nope - it's all original... I actually have the box it was shipped in from the manufacturer, that states it's configuration...

Besides, there are plenty of roasted neck sr5 HH basses in honey burst, but most have rosewood boards - you can find them on GC's Platinum Pages...

This is a special edition made only for GC. I actually played this exact bass, and was very close to buying it. I just couldn't get used to the glossy neck.

For your first EBMM you have made QUITE the purchase.

CONGRATS!

AFAIK, this is correct - and the gloss neck doesn't bother me any, as a few of my basses have them... Thanks, btw - the Prestige I sold before buying this was pretty nice, but this thing is particularly sweet!!!

* Adds dimensional stability and resistance to temperature and humidity changes
* Increases resistance to warping
* Reduces density while maintaining stiffness for a lighter neck with sufficient strength
* Yields a microstructure similar to naturally aged woods with lower moisture content
* More resonance and less damping
* Eliminates the need for hazardous chemical treatments
* Vibrational testing indicates that roasted maple exhibits clearer tone with a stronger fundamental than untreated maple samples

Is there any truth to any of this? Seems like a bunch of BS. Not that it matters because it looks so damn good!

I don't know - Sadowsky doesn't seem to thing it's BS, and they're generally known for making high quality instruments(as is EBMM)

who cares....it's gorgeous.

I won't lie - the looks certainly didn't hurt my decision any...

Regarding stability - it *seems* to react a bit slowly to trussrod adjustments, which would indicate a very stable neck, *to me*... For example, last night I tightened the trussrod nut a bit, to flatten out the neck a little - and today, I needed to back it off a tad, as if it took overnight for the adjustment to fully take effect... The whole bass just has a rock solid feel to it, and the neck in particular - I think this thing will do well with some of the harsh gigging conditions living in upstate NY can present...
