Agreed. I've got two StingRays with roasted necks and they're just beautiful. This one is no exception, except the fretboard is slightly mindblowing.

The short, short version - the wood is dried very thoroughly, then placed in a hot (350-400 degrees), low-oxygen environment for several hours.
