NBD: EBMM Roasted "Old Smoothie" Stingray

How do they "roast" the neck?

Well, after almost a year of wanting to get one of EBMM's 40th Anniversary "Old Smoothie" Stingrays, I finally took delivery today of a roasted one from Sweetwater! Simply put, it's an exceptional bass in both its aesthetics and ability to produce sweet, deep lows!

I think I would spend as much time just sitting on the couch looking at the rig as I would actually playing it. Awesome!

Hi there/// Also playing on an old smoothie for some months (hard to find in Belgium !), as the '76 radio knobs installed by myself, being tuned by me both for low action and fast playability, I have on order the Hipshot BT-1 short drop d tuner and some brass saddle, added some D'ADDARIO EXL 220 BT strings also in 40-95 gage.

At first I installed some GHS Bass Boomers L3045 on the old smoothie, but it didn't match at all, so took those strings back off after one week to get the D'ADDARIO, smoother and with the nice balanced tension, a dream to play now with very low action.

Normally will have the Ampeg Heritage SVT 410 HLF & Heritage SVT CL head to go with the old smoothie bass.

Regards, Eric.
