Yes, it played sharp everywhere when I first got it, I'm sure I'll be touching it up though. There is still a little bit left also, I have the action up pretty high right now, still tweaking the bass.

Yes, it played sharp everywhere when I first got it, I'm sure I'll be touching it up though. There is still a little bit left also, I have the action up pretty high right now, still tweaking the bass.
Mine was the same way when I got it, the strings were laying on the neck, someone had tightened up the truss rod really tight but it came out nice, I have an EB-3 too, the sound is reminiscent of an EB-3 with more growl, I really like this thing, it's well worth the money.
I've been using just the neck pickup for the most part, sounds great.
I saw one on ebay with no pickups. The lister said in his description that he'd used the pickups in his T'bird build. So, yeah these pickups have a lot of fans.

Yeah - my frets got pretty pointy after arriving here to Phoenix. So a quick file and it's amazing. Not sure about the gloss neck, but I'm digging it. It's really round sounding compared to my Fenders. (Flats tone helps that).
I did change out the tuners for the Hipshot Ultra Light while I was setting it up. Big fan of those. Stock ones were fine though.

For the Tuners - You want the Hipshot, ultra lite Lollypop, 3/8" size - whether clover, lollypop, or Y key.

Being a P-bass person I know exactly what you mean. Whenever I play a bass with a bridge pickup I try my best to ignore it's existence. But it still annoys me and the extra knobs are a constant temptation to mess up the sound.
I actually like the sound of this bass with both pickups on, although I like it better with the neck a little louder.
Well I took the Embassy out to a jam tonight where I'm usually the only bass player so I get to play the whole set so I played it long enough to get accustomed to it, I got a good sound almost right away with a minimum of knob twiddling into an amp I usually don't like too much. This thing sounds great! The house bass player also loved it, he played around with it had a surprised look on his face and liked the sound right away, said it was very articulate, he complimented the bass several times, said he might snag one especially after I told him the price. I've brought 4 or 5 different basses to this jam including a Fender J bass, he's not a Gibson player but he loved this one and the T-Bird (Gibson with Mike Lull pickups), so this Embassy is definitely a keeper. It sounded really good to me when he played it too.
Ok, thanks. I thought it was a series/parallel switch because of the jumper on the one end of the switch, but it wasn't possible for me determine how the switch is wired or follow the wiring from the photos.
