Gibson just needs to get rid of the three point bridge, put the pups in nickel covers, and swap the tuners. Making those changes would not add considerably to the price and would attract a lot of new buyers. If they paid any attention to the bass market they would get it. The problem is that it would take capacity away from guitar production that is keeping them afloat.

Great bass! I got mine (second hand) as you: Last and only 2018 gear purchase as 2019 "three wise men" present. Mine is ebony and absolutely lovely.

It's on the heavy side. 4,6Kg... 600gr heavier than my Precisions, but I use a 10cm wide strap, so I can stand a 2h rehearsal quite well.

I strung it, for test purposes, with Rotosound 77 flats but it shines (at least for my taste) with rounds. Currently D'Addario EXL165s.

For the life of me, I will never understand why Gibson can't just make a T Bird with the PUs and hardware used on the Epi Vintage Pros, they are the CHEAPER version!! Anyway, I am happy with my bass, and am jonesin' for a white one, and may get one, because they don't cost $2000, they cost $699!!

In Canada the Epi T-Bird Vintage Pro is $979.00 plus 13% tax = $1100.00 plus the case which is another $200.00

You guys in the States have it great when it come to the price of gear.
