Chunky neck? Yep. P bass nut width? Check. Block inlays? Yes. Tort pickguard? Yes please! So a day after getting an Ibanez with pretty much everything I don't like in a bass, I get another Ibanez with everything I do like in a bass. The TMB600. The Nordstrand pickups on this sound killer and I love that it can go active or passive. Ive owned a handful of Fender and Squier PJ basses in the past and this is easily the best IMO. Love the grain on the ash on this as well and its not terribly heavy. I do like me a bound fingerboard too. Picked it up used for $399 in excellent condition, still had the plastic on the pickguard even. Loving it so far.

    Thanks. It’s the TMB600

  4. That "Mary Kay" finish is mighty pimp!

Yea, I like it a lot. They call it “antique white blonde” and it’s really cool looking. Photos don’t do it justice.

Sweet looking bass, I’d scoop one up if they made lefties

  9. Talmans had been around for a few years before the ATK series was dropped, so "replaced" is not really correct.
I fully expect the ATK basses to come back in a big way someday--they were a popular design that was truly original, with a signature sound that can't be had any other way.

Well it is now the only only Ibanez line with a P style neck.

I like it .... I just picked up a TMB30 in banana yellow its a nice little short scale.

Is the switch a pup selector? How do you switch from active to passive?

  16. The switch should be for active/passive. Knobs should be double stack V/Blend and T/B

Does one of the eq knobs work as tone in passive mode?

I've got some GAS for the 5 string version of that bass. I played the entry level model of it a few years back and was knocked out by the quality. I can only imagine how much better the mid-level model must be. Congratulations on a great find.
