The Torino red rocker. Had to adjust the truss rod to get the action down, and it responded well, playing great now. Tuners are a little stiff, hoping that when I change strings they might ease up.

Particularly with brand-new tuners, 3-in-1 oil is as close to ideal as you can get for a lubricant. Just a dab’ll do ya. If you want to be especially careful, cover nearby surfaces to prevent the oil from contacting your new finish.

@cataract very fun, loud rockin sound right out of the box. I love the jazz neck, and the back is almost unfinished maple. Really smooth. I'm guessing there is some sort of finish on it but it's very thin.

Awesome grab. Congrats! Do these newer Boxer models also have the TBX tone control? I like how the TBX control works (0-5 works like a standard tone control, 5-10 opens up the sound even more).
Cool, a P-bass with a jazz neck, no pick guard and painted headstock. I wish these came in more colors.

Why are they calling this the Boxer when the headstock still reads "Jazz Bass Special?" I'm familiar with the Jazz Bass Special instrument... cool bass + lotta bang for the buck. Did Fender just re-name an old bass? If so, why?

Well, it actually says "jazz bass special". It has a jazz bass neck AND a jazz bass pickup. It's a reissue of sorts of a "jazz bass special" from the 80s.
Boxer was the series. Maybe Fender is going to roll out something else?

Congrats on your new Jazz Bass Special Boxer! I have an original one from 1986; same black head stock, pearl white finish which has weathered to off-yellow that we often refer to as "Mother of Toilet Seat"!! JK!! Great tone! Does your Boxer have the TBX tone circuit like the 80's versions?
Sweet bass. If they bring back the one with the double slanted p bass pickups it will be tough for me not to pick one up.
