NBD: Fender Dirnt Precision

Well I am not much for signiture models but his one is pretty understated. Plus I am a sucker for Tele-style headstocks. (My first ever "real" bass was a 72 Tele that I sold years ago) I have owned many basses in my day but this is the FIRST one I have ever purchased new. Got it today for $400. It is the MIM version. It had a warped pickguard so I was able to talk them down on the listed price. I actually had a spare guard in my parts bin so on it went! I also had an extra Fender hard shell case that was just begging for a bass. So here it is...

sweet bass, mine is in the classifieds , but im having 2nd thoughts , the neck is so comfortable , where did you get the tort guard Jmac? I really have to rethink the sale , id much rather my dirnt than 400 bucks, wish my apt. was bigger

Well I could not leave well enough alone. Some minor mods that turned my Dirnt more into a 55/57 reissue.

Removed a sold the Baddass II that came stock and replaced it with a Fender standard 4 saddle bridge. Added the bridge cover. Put the parchment guard back on and added a tugbar/thumbrest. With all that I felt it wasn't a Dirnt anymore so the star-stamped neck plate was replaced with a plain one.

It was a good bass as purchased but I am not much into signiture stuff so now it is mine - with a more 50's vintage look. Plus it helps fill the void left after selling my 72 Tele bass years ago!
