Man, do I love me the Candy Apple and maple color scheme on a P Bass. That is a gorgeous instrument. What are the main differences between the Duck Dunn signature and just a regular old P bass?

Yes and the photos don't do justice, it's even more amazing in person! The Duck model was Fender's MIJ replica of his 1958 Precision. It is basically the same as an MIJ 57 reissue but with the candy apple red paint and gold pickguard. One interesting variation from an MIJ 57 RI is that Fender put US 62 Reissue pickups in the Duck Dunn models.

Finger rests on the G string side were standard until sometime in the mid 70's. Also strap buttons behind the headstock were standard until sometime during either the late 60's or early 70's.

Yeah since this a 1958 reissue it would be cool to put a hootenanny strap button on it and some reverse wind tuners. Gotoh Res-O-Lites would bring it down to 8 lb. even, hmmmmmmmm…… Nahhh, this thing is perfect as is and it's wisest to leave it all original.

It may be bad form to ask how much someone paid right in their New Bass Day thread, but I traded for it so you're excused.
Nowadays I think one of these would fetch $1K or very close now that Duck is gone... Since I wanted one so bad I would've paid that. I think it is a great one to hang on to!
