NBD - Fender Jazz content + bonus

Hey everyone! So I just recently had my 21st and had people put towards me getting a new bass instead of getting lots of presents.

Today I went into the music store where one of my mates works and tried out some of the basses there. I tried a 2009 Fender Am. Std. Jazz, a Roadworn Jazz and a 2003 Am. Series Jazz with S-1 switching. Out of those 3 the 2003 Jazz played the best and I fell in love with the maple neck and burst finish! Also got the 2003 at a big discount cause it was 2nd hand. Bare in mind our prices here are huge but a 2009 Am. Std. Jazz costs $2500 here. I got the 2003 for $1700 which for me is massive!

Also the bonus, when I bought the bass (well I got all the standards, Roadcase, strap, lead) mum put some extra money into it and helped me get a Sansamp BDDI :hyper:

Anyway without further ado, the pics:

Just a small question about the BDDI, I'm finding it's output to be very very loud, even with the input and output sliders in the instrument position. Like my level pot is hardly above 0 and any higher it's way louder than having the pedal bypassed? I'm using the SVT model from the instructions. Maybe I just have to get used to the pedal more :)

Anyway thanks for reading and I cannot wait to rock this thing!

Thanks :) yeah I was thinking of a stingray (haha actually black and maple), but the prices of those are disgusting here! Haha like $3000. And the sansamp oh my gosh it sounds thunderous!

Stingrays are pricey here in Australia too. From my experience, they mark them up like crazy. I was checking them out for a while and found a really nice trans teal one with white pg and maple neck/board. It played like a dream. The price on it was $3200aud. I asked if they could do a better deal and without even thinking about it, the guy responded with $2200. Just like that they wiped a grand off it.

I walked out with my new trans teal ray that day :bassist:

I wrote to EBMM and supplied my serial number asking for details on it. It had only left their factory a few months earlier, so it wasn't like it had been sitting in the shop for ages... Maybe I just got lucky?

You got a nice bass there! That baby looks clean!

Cheers! Yeah I was thinking the same when I was looking for basses, like I wanted a burst but tort just wasnt doing anything for me eh. But I'm thinking about buying a couple other pg's to change it up from time to time :) Like a anodized brushed gold pg and maybe a black pg also :)

Yeah the mark up on ray's in aus is ridiculous. I've been trying to find a good secondhand one but everyone that pops up is black/maple. And i swore i woukld never own another black bass.

Karatekid i've been searching everywhere for a trans teal ray! I have major problems when it comes to green things, i have to have them!
I bought my MIJ j bass mainly because it was surf green, just happen to play really well too lol.
