NBD Fender Kingman

Your bass has a natural finish. I believe JTB stands for Jetty Black (JetTy Black = JTB), the name for the finish on certain other Kingman V2s per Invalid Link Removed. So perhaps your bass is not a JTB at all but in fact an NAT.

Cool, thanks for the explanation, and the link. I don't own one of these (yet), and if/when I do, it will be the JTB, unless they start making the short scale basses in other colors.

Hey @BassFaceExtremo - What strings did you settle on? I am looking to buy one of these soon.
I have Chromes on mine. What kind of strings do you like to play? Anything you like already that you can also get in short scale is where I would start, especially if you're going to run it into an amp, soundboard, etc...

Can anyone tell me what the “SCE” stands for? I just got an accepted offer for $250 on a Fender Kingman SCE natural 2014 that is described as “very good condition”. I feel like it’s a steal but can anyone tell me anything about the 2014 SCE that I need to know? I’m particularly curious if these have a gloss or satin neck.

I think I'm in love, it needs some work but it's not anything I can't do myself, cheers y'all!
Hey man, this looks exactly like the base I just bought but haven’t received yet. Mine even came with a hard case and I’m getting it for $310 shipped! Do you know if yours is the Kingman SCE?

Thanks! I knew the V2 is 30.3, that's what got me gassing for one of these. My electric is a Squier Jaguar SS 30", and my current ABG is an old Oscar Schmidt/Washburn 32". So, I read the spec on the V2 and got interested, but I see V1s second-hand for much less, so I thought I'd check. Hopefully one of the V1 owners will chime in.

Probs a bit late, but I can confirm my V1 is full scale at 34 inches.

Hey all,

Didn't Steve Harris of Iron Maiden did or even now play(s) one of these Fender Basses? Love the feel of the neck though. Can anyone confirm this? And if so, what kind of strings does Steve play on his acoustics? I love his harmonics that he plays on those acoustic basses.

Cheers from Germany
KARLi

I am quoting myself ;)

And: yes, Steve Harris does!
