NBD: Fender Player Precision

Finally, I had enough of my previous bass and took it in and got a new one.
I did ask everyone here about neck dive, and went with the Fender Player precision, well balanced, no dive and the neck is super comfortable:hyper:.

Picked it up from my favorite friendly dealer here in Tokyo:)
As it turns out, stock of the mexican players is quite low in Tokyo right now and will probably take a couple months before more come in. They are quite popular!

I'm loving the tone and im impressed with how light it is!:bassist:
Nice looking bass - enjoy!

I tried one of those in a local store last night and I was pleasantly impressed. The bass was light. The back of the neck has that silky smooth satin finish like they do on USA models. The contour of the neck has a very pleasant soft C contour which is extremely comfortable. Overall, a great bass at a reasonable price.

I can’t decide if I want to keep flats or rounds on it. What are you guys been doing?

One of them was price difference but, I also find i prefer the slimmer and C shape neck of the Mexican player series over the thicker hybrid made in Japan precisions i played. And for some reason I discovered i really like the pau ferro board
I picked up a Player Jazz last summer and it has the Pao Ferro board.

I usually prefer maple boards for necks over rosewood but as it turns out I really like PF. Some of the warmth of rosewood but with the snap of maple makes for arguably the best of both worlds. No wonder PF was considered to be a boutique wood for so long. Just great stuff!

I’m looking forward to getting a Player Precision in white as soon as is feasible. Being a lefty all I can get with white is the PF board which actually kind of sucks because I’ve always wanted a white Fender with a maple board but the PF will be fine for now. Does Stratosphere sell lefty Player maple boarded necks?

Ive just added an American Performer in Arctic White with a rosewood fretboard to the stable. I love the PJ config.

I really wish that Fender would release the American Performer in lefty. It’s such a nice piece and the reviews have been very good. That blue is really nice too. Come on Fender. Step it up!
