NBD - Fender Select Precision

I never thought I'd be anything other than a J-Bass guy. Enter the Fender Select Precision!
This is far and away my all time favorite bass.
The pics won't do it justice, but the flame on the body and the quartersawn neck are UNREAL in person. The first thing I did (yesterday) was replace the parchment pickguard with a brand new tort (I'm thrilled with how good it looks). Even better, this thing sounds better than it looks. If your a P or J person definitely consider one of these. You can find brand new ones (my is brand new) for around $1,900 on eBay. These things are literally custom-shop level instruments.

Definitely loving this bass. However, I'm going to put some thomastik-Infeld flats on it as I'm not a big round wound guy. I'll post a more thorough once there on and I can dig in.

I just put a set of TI Jazz Flats on my P-Select. Boy are they nice strings. I always pictured flats being so dull and thumpy, but these have some character to them. I guess you somtimes DO get what you pay for........ha ha ha
