It was a demo model and came strung with LaBella DTF. I like the tone but may try Nickel rounds at some point. Here’s a few pics. So far...I’m really enjoying this bass!

Here’s a quick video. I’m still learning fretless and have a lot of opportunities to fine tune my intonation. It’s a fun journey.

  3. I too have been wanting one of these for a while. Out of my price range for the foreseeable future though :-/ Congrats on the new bass!

Thank you! Same here....I had a few things “align” as they may, and it finally worked out! Hope you get yours soon!

You do not sound like a fretless newbie at all!

Thanks Dr. Cheese! It has to be the bass....it seems to play itself with ease. I have dabbled with URB in a Bluegrass band for a while, otherwise...I’m a newbie on Fretless.

Do you happen to know the weight? I’d love to get a TF fretless but they always seem on the heavier side.

I’m a burst / tort guy but the all black wins the the NBD today

Other than the pick guard, looks a lot like my black 80s Jazz Bass Special fretless! Congrats, I love the look of an all black bass with unligned finger board. Enjoy.

The more I’ve been playing it this afternoon.....the more I’m liking the flats also..They would not have been my first pick, but since they were already on the bass, I’m thinking I’ll leave them on for awhile and see how I feel about it in a few weeks.

Very cool bass! Pardon my ignorance, but was Tony Franklin the bass player for The Firm with Jimmy Page and Paul Rodgers? If so, you can complete the TF look by growing your hair out about 6in and gelling it straight up in the air! That TF had a very cool playing style. Your solid on that bass too homie!

That's him. And also Blue Murder with Carmine Appice and John Sykes.

Thanks Inara! I saw The Firm in Indy on the tour for their first album. Crap I guess that dates me a bit but it was a phenomenal show & I was floored by Tony Franklin! Looks like we share 2 passions; Bass & Bikes! Thanks again girl, Happy Valentine's!

Dang it. Black works anyway. But that unlined board is sexy.

I wish I had the chance to see Tony Franklin live ... He's just amazing.

And yes, bikes and bass! There's a thread we have going here if you're interested in checking it out: Bassists who ride Motorcycles
