I've been playing for 11 years and have had dozens and dozens of basses. It took me a long time to figure out what I needed for the music I play (metal/prog rock). I was recommended on here to get a PJ bass for my style and I couldn't find anything I liked new or used. So I put one together myself. I had my local guitar luthier rout the body for the Ps because it was a showroom body that came with dual J routs. I honestly couldn't be happier with the results. It's light, it plays so fast, and the fender 62 pups just have this boomy roar! I'm bummed I can't play with this live yet but soon enough I'm sure. This is probably the nicest bass I have ever owned. So worth every dime I spent and every minute I waited. Specs Neck: Fender Player Jazz neck 2019 Body: Lightweight (4lbs) ashwood dinky jazz bass body from Warmoth Electronics: Fender 62' Ps, & stock MIM jazz pup (I mostly run Ps but like the clarity of a J when I need it). Switch craft wiring harness. Hardware: Stock tuning gears, Gotoh 201 bridge Strings: D'addario custom light gauge flats (.40-.100)
Beautiful bass. We live in a great time, if you don’t like anything that’s available commercially just find the right parts and your dream bass becomes reality.
