In that picture it looks like the protective plastic film is still covering the pickguard. Peel that puppy and behold the torty goodness.

It was, took that pic after walking out of the store, but its now off!

I bought the same bass a few months ago. I love it. I installed a Fender Original 62 pup, and threaded rod saddles. It's strung up with TI Jazz flats, and the covers were installed about an hour ago. Great bass!

Love that way that looks! I couldn't do it though because when I play with a pick, my knuckles would hit the back of that cover for sure. Ouch.

I have the same one. I got it a little while back when guitar center was offering a special deal at $499. It has actually turned out to be one of my favorite basses ...I gig the snot out of it! And I am one who usually has to mess with instruments, change pickups and things like that. This one I just did a simple set up to, and it's perfect. The pick ups in these are excellent.
