NBD: First G&L

So I have had this for about the week now. Its kinda sad how you can get these for such a low price. Good for the buyer I guess. Anyways, this is my first G&L, a CLF L-2000. I was not planning on buying stuff anymore but I could not resist this. Sounds too hot when I first took it home, but after some reading here working with the volume knob really helped. It is very well made, and sounds very modern/hi-fi. I can cop some "vintage" tones too but I already have a P and J with flats and mutes for that. And surprisingly light weight, just at 8lbs on my bathroom scale. I THINK this might have cured my bass GAS, but you guys know how that goes. Here it is, and if you can't tell I like instruments in clear/natural finish.

Natty Squad, I like it. I am warming up to roundwounds now too, so far my favorite are Sunbeams and Balanced nickels. I will try out Lo Riders on the L-2000 in a couple of weeks. BTW the design of the bridge is very nice. I like the saddle lock idea.

Nice score, congrats! I have a '99 (non-CLF) L-2500 in the same finish, and I love it. Natural never goes out of style and it ages nicely, IMO.

Used, $1070 out the door. I think this and the Fullerton deluxe comes with the case, the others get a gig bag.

I just got my first G&L myself, about 2 months ago. Mines "just" a tribute, an SB2, but when I saw it used at the local store I had to have it. Fantastic instrument. I also "think" it cures my GAS. For now

I've been using Sunbeams mostly, on my P bass. I put Pure Blues on the SB2 and haven't wanted to take em off. Great strings.

G&L make a great product... period! I have a "cheapy" JB2 Tribute that is just fantastic! Congratulations on your new bass! Great choice!

A well-kept secret I will share with you. Put some GHS Pressurewounds on that thing. Fantastic strings!
