It's so true. It took me a while to decide that I should give up the Reggie, but I'm not looking back.

I played the P for a couple hours today and just got lost in it. I couldn't do that with the Reggie; my hand would've cramped up waaaaay sooner.

I'll always have fond memories of the Reggie, but this P is a joy to play that it never was.

Cramping? Try some potassium, magnesium and drinking more water on a regular basis. One of those sports drink should do it to start with. See if it helps.

I'm gonna grab the fake blocks and give them a shot. If they look or feel terrible, I'll just take them off. I'm not married to the idea of them, but they're cheap enough that I'll give 'em a whirl.

I got jockomo stickers years ago. Looked good on the site, but I wasn't super into them in person and sold them here. YMMV.

I like the guard on your bass as it is. But pick-guards are like shoes. I changed from black to parchment.

Alright, got the new guard already (I paid $5 for 1 day shipping, I was excited). This is a look I've been wanting for a long time. I used to have a SR5 that was black and maple with a black guard, and it was the sexiest bass I ever owned, so I'm really excited to return to that aesthetic.

Also, just a quick note: I'm trash at taking pictures.

Looks great with the black guard!

I was doing some shopping with the missus earlier and just popped into my local guitar shop, and lo and behold, they got the same model in. Now I'm a sucker for black 'n' maple, so I had to give it a go..

Let me tell you, it took a lot of self control to not be taking it home right now, and be making my own NBD thread. It was, at the very most, in the low 8lbs and it played like a dream. The neck finish is so smooth and the fretwork was great, everything sounded level and consistent (other than that pesky G string, 5-7 fret Fender 'dead' zone), and the finish was great.

It had that classic wide open P grind, but also sounded so good with the tone about 25% open. I usually find that too muffled or muddy, but with this bass it just had a lovely low mid vintagey growl.

I've played a fair few Players now (couple Ps, couple Jags) and I really like them, more than the MIM Standard range. I'm sure there are duds out there, but I haven't found one. Nothing fancy, just well put together workhorses.
