NBD! Fodera Ryan Martinie Standard

When I was in high school, I first heard mudvayne and it changed my outlook on bass. Ryan Martinie’s style was game changing. I got into Warwick and was personally disappointed when he started playing Fodera. I drug my wife to Asheville a few months ago to see Ryan’s band Soften The Glare play, and fell in love with the Fodera tone. I’ve always wanted a Fodera but never thought I’d get one. The wife surprised me this weekend with a Christmas gift I’m beyond ecstatic for. The hype is real, and the fodera build quality is incredible. Pics of the Fodera and my Thumb for comparison.

I dont currently have a working scale but the Warwick is around 11lbs and I’d say the fodera is maybe around 9.5 just guessing

I really like Fodera's visual look of using the contrasting woods as big parts of the face, like this, or the ebony on VW's YinYang basses.

Congrats for this beauties. How would you describe the sound of each? It seems they share the PU - positions and the ebony fretboards. The Fodera is bolt on - the Thumb neck through. I imagine they can cover a wide varitety of styles and sounds together

Congrats! Ryan is a beast. I remember when LD50 came out and it was mind blowing. Used to play Warwick, I love the sound of them. Nothing sounds like a Warwick, but sooo heavy!

Looks like the neck on the Fodera is more wider than the Thumb. Congrats. beautifull basses and your wife rocks.
