NBD! - Franken Fender Jaguar Bass!

Finally, I finished my project!! (not the way that I planed it, but close enough)

Here is what I was planning to do:

and now the actual bass:

It is a Franken Fender Jaguar bass
- MIJ Jaguar Body
- 1-ply, one piece Black pickguard (I've always been more of a fan of the jazzmaster than the jaguar)
- DiMarzio P/J pickups
- MIM Classic 70s Precision bass Neck
- Gotoh Bridge
- Only pasive mode (just because I kinda broke the active circuit )
- Standard switching (pups on/off, series/parallel)

I didn't go with the refinish, even though I'm not a big fan of the sunburst, but the finish is in amazing condition so I didn't want to mess with it.

I'm very happy with the result, I can get a really nice P sound and adding the bridge pup I can get a kind of depper jazz-ish sound, just perfect!

Thats badass and honestly pretty much what I would want in a fender, PJ , P bass neck , Off set body and I like the I piece gaurd like a jazzmaster better then having the chrome on it.

Wow, that looks really cool. I actually like the burst body/maple BNB neck combo , and had considered doing something similar Myself.

That's a beauty for sure! The blacked out pickups and one piece black guard give it a "bad attitude" look. Thanks, now my gas for a Jaguar has gone way up!

I think bursts are classy and classic. The all black pg was a good choice. Did you use paint to black out the pole pieces on the pickups?

The DiMarzio Models Ps/Js come with black pole pieces.

Also, I love the Jag bass. I've been looking into some sort of P/J for my next bass, and seeing yours makes me want to buy a Squier and mod it for just the On/Off Series/Parallel switches.

I'd say go for it! the P/J configuration is great! Also, I highly recommend a humbucker J pickup for noise cancelling.

Where did you find the pickguard? I'm considering doing something similar with a passive MIM Jag.

I couldn't find anything like what I wanted in the market, so a luthier friend of mine made it for me.
