NBD - G&L L2000

I tell new owners to start with bass and treble at 50% and vol backed off a little and work from there. I learned this the hard way. :D

It's not the first time G&L has done Tribs with painted 'stocks.

A lot of folks just play the L2K passive and wide open. Adjust downstream gain as needed. Too much is made of the supposedly complicated controls. There’s nothing daunting about it.

An L2K can do a P bass tone IMO. Flip the selector to the neck pickup, extra credit if you have the single coil K mod.

But L2Ks and Kilotons aren’t P basses. Kilotons really really aren’t. I love my P bass but my L 2K and Kiloton go places that the P can’t ever get to. I’ve come to absolutely love my tribute Kiloton.

As far as necks, I think some of the L2Ks have 1.75 nuts? Some are also 1 5/8. My L 2K has a Jazz width neck. There’s a variety of them out there. I’d encourage you to keep trying them, especially in band situations if you get the opportunity

L2000 is what im gasing for right now. Especially this color with matching headstock. ACE!

I saw a video comparing an L2000 back to back with a jazz, then back to back with a P, then back to back with a stingray. Amazing how it can cop all those tones

Yes, two G&L's is always a nice date. These two are mid-90's LB-100's, hipshot detuners and duncan 1/4 pounders. Steadily heading towards closet queens, as my performing days may be behind me. We had some fun together, though!

so how did you like it in practice and are what you comparing to? Did you find the controls confusing, as too many possibilities, I ask because I had a while back with my first Ibanez, but maybe now that I am more experienced it won’t be as daunting.....Some say they are heavy, is that your observation?
Needless to say it looks badass

Sounded really good! Not really confusing as I am pretty much a set it and forget it person. Not really any heavier than my other basses. Thanks!
