Just got this today and I'm happy G&L finally built a 19mm string spacing 5 string.
This is one of few new basses I have bought in the last 10-15 years and it's nice.
10.24 lbs is the advertised weight , the neck profile is fast and the dots are handsomely appointed.

Nice! I'm really curious about these. How's the weight? Seems like 10 - 11 lbs is the norm for these. Not sure I love the metal control plate... but its growing on me. :)

The weight is 10.24 lbs which is usually too much but this bass feels comfy , I don't like the chrome plate either and I'm considering returning the bass and going Custom Shop with 19 mm spacing and rear routing. The neck profile is extremely comfortable and I'm convinced i'd be happy with the upgraded color selection since the Ash/Maple version is only available in Blueburst which isn't doing it for me.
Kudos to G&L for building a really good bass!

I agree with you on the control plate. I like it on the Wunkay since it only has one pickup but it looked too busy on your CLF L-2000. Your Tribute L-2000 is gorgeous.

Personally, I can't wait 18 months for a G&L Custom but maybe 6 months for an Option Order.

I've had a Trib and a USA L2500 in past years. Ultimately let the last one go a few years back since I don't really "need" a fiver. Yet I'm seriously gassing for one of these! Personally I love the retro look of the control plate.
