NBD GC SCORE!!!

So I was trolling the used web pages for the nearby GCs and found a Peavey Fury V in Youngstown for $99.99. Great price, must be something wrong with it. So I drive 42 miles, and walk around the store for a while and can't seem to find it. A sales guy walks up and asks if he can help and I ask about the bass and he said that the tech has it but he'll ask. He came back and said it doesn't work, maybe the preamp. I asked if the tech changed the battery or even opened it up. Sales guy said that he did then told me I could have it for $50. Well, being an electronic engineer, I jumped on that deal and bought with a $50 Visa gift card I got for my bday. $3.62 out of pocket. Took it home, plugged it in and it didn't work. Put in a new battery and IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i have a similar story with gc. i bought a new fender classic 70's jazz bass for $430, ( they street price for around $800) because it fretted out real bad to where it was unplayable. i bought and took it to the local shop, and for $50 had the frets leveled and recrowned. now it is as good as gold. great player, low action. all for $480!!

:D Reminds me of that scene in Sling Blade where all the guys are standing around at the small engine repair shop trying to figure out why a particular lawnmower won't start. Karl (Billy Bob Thornton) walks up and takes a look at it. "It don't have no gas in it", he says. All the other guys looked at each other sheepishly...
