Ok, so I don't know if it really is a Hofner prototype, or even made by Hofner or not, but I couldn't pass it up. I bought this from a Vintage dealer on reverb that has 5 stars and some choice gear for sale currently. Was of course labelled as a Hofner U-Bass Prototype and that it may be the only one ever made.
All that said, it does not have any markings on it other than a "Hofner" logo on the top. It arrived to today and I have to say that it is pretty dang good. I have had a Kala and Gold Tone Ubass before, and the sound and quality definitely match theirs. Its 20" scale with a 3 band EQ and tuner.
I was wanting a U-Bass and had an alert setup on Reverb that brought me here, and I got it for less than the Kala I was looking at on there lol.
If anyone has any idea if its legit or any info on it, I would love to know more. Attached are the pictures from the listing, as well as one pic of it with my Yamaha BB and amps for scale after I unboxed it and finally set it down!
