NBD: Ibanez Black Eagle Reissue...

I had been looking for a decent entry level bass to have for creating bass lines and recording (am mostly a guitarist.) Found this one at GC on clearance. Had been damaged in several areas (most prominently the headstock with the cutaway that used to be there) and sat on their shelf for the better part of 2 years. I got it for about 1/3 cost of new....it plays and sounds well...still has the plastic covering the pickguard and pickups....

Ibanez did a great job reissuing these, lovingly done. Upper register access is a little restricted because of the cutaway.

Love that old ibanez script on the headstock. Nice looking bass!

I love these things!! My favorite Ibby and my favorite J, hands down. I should have never sold a couple of the ones I've had (I've had 2 originals and 3 reissues [note: first reissue I had, *I* stripped the truss nut with a wrong-sized wrench, and Ibanez just replaced the bass under warranty when I asked if they could fix it!])

Cracks me up that almost every one of these I've seen has the same busted headstock.
What the heck are people doing with their basses that this even happens????
I get that it's a weak spot, but I don't have dents or chips on the underside of my headstocks, or bent tuners on my 2+2 ones.

They are so cool, it hurts to see them damaged.

Breaking the headstock is a right of passage on those basses.
