NBD! Ibanez BTB Fretless

So a couple months ago I had made an inquiry at Long & McQuade about this bass. From what I was told at the time, it wasn't available in Canada. I was bummed, but I moved on. A few weeks pass and my boy at L&M send me a message saying that the Canadian Ibanez distributor got their hands on 4 units. One is now mine!

Congrats on the new exclusive bass, and nice collections you got there.

How are the side dots positioned? Would you mind showing a pic of the neck side?

The side dots are in the correct position for a fretless. Meaning they are ON the note, not between frets like on a fretted bass. You can see this on the Sweetwater site for this bass.
This is throwing me off a bit right now, but I'm coming around to it.

Sorry for the zombie thread, but I might be getting one of these soon. I'm curious what strings you wound up using?

Also does anyone have any flatwound recommendations for this bass?

I know it's a slightly longer scale. I have Cobalts and Chromes on my J and P, and like them both. Curious what might sound good given the scale and electronics on this bass.

I have a BTB which I love.

I saw the fretless ones at Musiciansfriend some months ago, and I thought that was cool.

Ibanez does not sit on their hands; they're always thinking of something new or how to improve/diversify an existing model.

Much good luck with your new fretless.

Here's my BTB1205E.

I love the satin nickel (I assume) hardware on your bass!
