NBD - Ibanez SR1400E

New Ibanez SR1400E in Dark Rose Flat.
Factory second from eBay, or as Ibanez calls it, "SECOND STOCK".

Front. This is my first guitar or bass with flamed maple. It's really cool. It's hologram-ish as you look at it from different angles.

Back. The mahogany back is boring in comparison to the front. There is no belly cut or forearm cut. But the body is small and tapered compared to my Yamaha BB or Jazz Bass or Precision Bass bodies, so that it doesn't need the cuts.

Neck. Wenge, bubinga, wenge, buginga, wenge laminates. There was a crack in one of the wenge pieces that they sealed over. The sealant is kind of shiny, but it isn't visible and feel is not noticeable. It has titanium reinforcement rods which is a non-visible feature.

Multi-tool. screw drivers, allen keys and a metric ruler.

Sounds and plays great. It's a bit lighter than my Yamaha BB.
When the balance is on the front only or back only and the active EQ is on, the hum is particularly loud. When I put the balance knob in the middle for both, the hum is gone. I still need to figure out the EQ to dial in the tone (that no one cares about) to what I like.
Bought it from seller barryclarkmusic on eBay.
