NBD - Ibanez SR2605E

I’ve been gassing for one of these since they got announced and was finally able to get my hands one at a decent price. It got here today and it’s beautiful. The craftsman ship on Ibanez’s Premium line is outstanding. It’s an absolutely beautiful instrument.

The Nordstrand Big Singles sounds great with the Ibanez preamp. I just played it for about an hour and there wasn’t a single tone I couldn’t dial in. The B string is absolutely fantastic.

I love my Stingray 5, but this may become my new #1.

What about this "PANGA PANGA" fretboard? On pics looks very close do Wenge. Is that right?

I'm not really sure about the differences in woods and their tonal qualities/responsiveness

Panga Panga is a very close relative to Wenge.

How has the string spacing felt to you? I notice a big difference when switching from my Warrior DM 5 or Fender 5 over to the 2605. It reminds me of the spacing I had on a Groove Tools Bill Dickins Signature 7 string..... it must have been 16.5mm also. I’m still trying to decide how I like it. One things for sure, it has killer looks. And I agree that it has a great tone palette.

Yup, I pulled mine out of the closet last night, slapped some DR Pure Blues on it, and those pup's sound delicious!
