Double Bass NBD @ ISB

ISB has been a lot of fun but the highlight absolutely is getting Andrew Hassel’s first bass. Sweet, clear tone, smaller and very easy to play . Now it’s back to Chicago Bass Works for a c extension and it’ll finally be home in a few weeks . It’ll stay at David Gage’s booth until later tomorrow, if you are here stop by and play it.

Hard to see from the pic, but the end pin looks like carbon fiber maybe?

Eagle eye ! yes indeed , fully tricked out : CF endpin, adjustable soundpost, compensated tailpiece, probably tuck-and-roll interior if I look carefully ;-). Will have a full report and a sound sample after it's back with the c-extension , in about a month.

Here's the beast , after about a month . C extension, Sloane tuners. The focused sound, short string length and very comfortable shoulders make it easy to play , and it is loud , even the bottom octave makes ~106dB .
Who needs an amp ;-) ?
