And I have to agree with this too. Some of the Starry Night models I've seen pictures of online didn't appear to have a neck as nice as this one so I was worried whether the roasted neck would be really nice or not... and boy does this neck not disappoint. It's freaking phenomenal.

might be a stupid question, but I don't know much about Bongos: Do all of them come with a piezo pickup as well? Does yours? If so, how do you like it and in what way is it mounted (under the bridge)? Sorry for the bombardment, oh forgot to add that's the coolest color Bongo I've seen and the neck looks outta this world!

Sorry to butt in here. Not all Bongos come with a piezo pickup. Most don't. The easiest way to tell is the second knob (pan) will be stacked and there is a small cavity cover on the back at the bridge.

I'm not sure if the links in this thread still work but there are a lot of sound samples here.

On a side note, I don't believe that EBMM still offers a piezo on the Bongos. I thought they discontinued that earlier in the year.

Thanks for the info and links. Just found out that they were used in Bongos and it piqued my interest. Really appreciate the reply!

The Bongo look definitely isn't for everyone, which is too bad because they are amazing to play. For me they feel great. I think one thing I had going for me when I got my first Bongo was the fact that I was a bit of a noob to basses in general so didn't have any preconceived ideas about how they should look. But now with the Starry Night finish, even some of the anti-Bongo crowd might like it now ;)
