Purchased to take over from my sterling sub ray5. Much nicer to play and is up there with my solar for comfort.

I haven't noticed any neck dive on this bass but yes you are right about the P pickup sounding monstrous I am running it through a 500 watt Carlsbro Viper head and 4x10 which is being overdriven by the EHX Hotwax pedal that I have and it sounds absolutely great can't wait to try it through my Zoom B6 and the patch I put together for the death metal band that I am in.Love mine, the P pickup sound is monstrous. However, the neck dive at times is pretty annoying, even got me thinking I should grab a headless 5-string.
Poplar body. I face the same issue on my 3B with its basswood body. It's so bad I stopped playing it. Must be even worse with a 5-string neck. Have you tried the thread-the-strap-under-your-belt trick?Love mine, the P pickup sound is monstrous. Would they be 1/2" or 11/16 I will look into some hipshot tuners if I can find the right ones here in NZReplace the tuners with Hipshot ultralights and you’ll save nearly 1/2 lb at the headstock. That usually does the trick for neck dive. IIRC, those Jackson’s use the Fender Mexican tuners which are very heavy.

way more important than looks --- that said: you've got quite the looker in this one! congratulations on your new instrument!Much nicer to play and is up there with my solar for comfort.
