No, not the same.
The construction is actually excellent.
Fretwork is perfect.

I meant the actual piece of wood. The construction on the stingray I had was flawless, as were the frets. It was just a bogus piece of wood that wound up having no real tone.

Sorry to hear the bass is not working out for you. A Suppoting Membership lets you list in the TalkBass Classifieds, the best place to sell gear IMO.

I don't think selling on Talkbass is the best option as potential buyers will likely check out this thread.

Carvin/Keisel has always had a talent for building really good looking instruments that, with rare exceptions, sound awful. Sorry.

That is a pretty judgmental thing to say. Every Carvin I've had my hands on was a top quality instrument. Granted there could be an exception,but that doesn't mean you should slander the company.

I dont believe he accused you of attempting to trick anyone. He simply mentioned the myriad complaints you levied against Carvin in this very post. No sir, there is no I'll will wished upon you nor is there any accusations made. A simple observation to be sure you are aware of. I like Carvin and I like Jaguars. I can't afford to buy either one right now so please don't accuse me or any of the other friends here who like the company of being hypocrites. I hope the best for you my friend.

Exactly! Potential buyers are likely to be discouraged from purchasing after seeing the bass described as unmusical. I'm not accusing the OP of anything.

Because everybody has an opinion. You said that every carvin youve had your hands on was a top quality instrument but we dont know which instruments youve had your hand on. Everybody is different and has different standards for what is bad, good, and great.
