My love of Kliras is pretty well known, my first bass was Klira(still have it) and I think I have five at the moment. I saw this on Ebay and it looked like no one was bidding on it so I tossed the minimum bid on it and won ! I'm pretty stoked, these are such sweet pieces of work, one of the most beautiful violin bass made imho. More pictures once it arrives.

I've still got searches out for the single cutaway version, hoping I can score one some day. No interest in a Hofner viola bass, but these, oh yeah. :D

The bass arrived safe and sound very well packed by the UPS store. The bass is exactly as described, set up well but with rounds on it, I have some Labella Deep Talk'n Flats on the way. I am very happy with it, can't wait to get it strung up abd really play it. I'll do a family picture over the weekend!

@godofthunder59 : Nice collection! Do you find your Kliras with the "f-holes" to be sounding different from the one without?
Not much difference really, the one's with F holes might be a bit louder unplugged but it isn't all that noticeable.

View attachment 3536792 Congrats! Impressive collection! Do you ever come across the knobs for these? I have one I would like to find the correct knobs for, I’m thinking they are hard to come by
Klira parts are very difficult to find, took me 40 years to find a replacement pickup for my first Klira. I check Ebay and Reverb every day for parts.

To my eye they look like offset split coils, like a Fender P, but hidden under a single cover.
When I was a kid I took apart one of my Kliras pickups ( why it still needs a original). I can't remember if they were single or double coil but they definitely were not split coil. There are two rows of adjustable pole pieces so if I had to guess they are humbuckers.
