I’ve heard many TB users say they love their Lakland Skyline Bob Glaub. After a failed deal on a USA 44-64, one popped up for sale and I scooped it up.
2008 made in Korea Lakland Bob Glaub. Came strung up with Chromes. The Lindy Fralin pickup sounds great. The neck is so comfy. Not too heavy, maybe 9lbs.
I’m a huge Fender Precision fan. These skylines are amazing basses. Easily rival the MIA Fender basses in build quality. Every Lakland I’ve owned has been a great playing bass.
Since I wasn’t spending $2500 on a new USA Lakland, I figured why not scoop up the used 2014 Lakland 44-51 they had also. I am glad I did. This bass plays and sounds great. The neo punch pickup is killer sounding. Strung up with some light gauge strings it plays comfortably and easy.
Definitely stoked on these 2 basses. Now it’s going to be even hard to pick which P to take to rehearsal.
I plan on doing some YouTube reviews on these basses since there wasn’t a whole lot of content on either. Still would like to add a USA 44-64 to the stable. Maybe I’ll sell my Fenders and buy one
