NBD: Logan J with Curtis Novak BS-DS pair

By the looks of it - the DeArmond is a split-coil/HB correct? The BSDS is a single. You may already be aware of that and that it will deliver a different voice there, but It should fit in that space.
The DeArmond is a double-coil humbucker. More like a humbucker on a Les Paul. Not like a Sidewinder on an EBO or EB-3.
It was to be a Hagstrom pickup in there originally but I asked for a Guild pickup thinking it was understood I meant a Hagstrom as that was the pickup that was coming in the Guilds at the time, this was the early 70s and I was a kid. But the guy put in the DeArmond saying it was “newer.” I went with it but really always wanted the Hagstrom. Was thinking of a refresh of the bass and going back to the original design that was never realized.
In short, yes I know its a completely different pickup and will offer a completely different sound

The Guild is $99 Guild BS-1 BiSonic Bass Pickup and the Novak is more than double that. I use both and they both sound equally good. The only reason I would use the Novak over the Guild is related to needing Fender spacing.
Or I could get a tuna melt and you could get a Rubin and we could do a mix and match…I doubt you would regret dropping in a BSDS - it's a really great sounding pu.
