NBD: London bass

I have just received this Eastwood London Bass.
Mahogany neck and body.
It's a 32" scale, but is shorter overall than my Bronco.
It fits inside a guitar bag.

Fit and Finish is fantastic.
The neck is nice and full feeling without being too big in the hand.
There are some distinctively different tones available and it sounds really big and punchy.

This one is just under 8 pounds weight.

The one I have is the final prototype which Eastwood used in the promo videos for this bass (example shown below).
Really happy with it.



The E string on mine is different from the rest, but I will be putting my preferred strings on shortly.

I believe that would be the Rivolta Duocata

After looking at the pics my initial thought was almost that I didn't like it, but something caught me so then I scrolled back through a little slower and I did a 180° realizing how sweet that is.

It's the small details that add up especially the binding on the headstock and fret markers. Very, very cool looking.

If you think that's different , wait till you see an original Armstrong London bass; you varied tone by sliding the pickup up and down a groove in the body.

Jack Bruce played one of those in the early '70s. They came in both long and short scale and have always had me curious but have never come across one IRL.

Since you grab the pickup and slide it to get different tones, they should have named it "The Grabber". God, I'm good with coming up with names.

Fact made worse as there was an opportunity to build them last year Someone unearthed a couple crates with bodies and necks at various stages of production. They wound up on eBay, was £30 for necks and £30 for the bodies.

Is this Serek inspired?
