you could get two DELANO JMVC 4 FE/M2 Split Coil Humbuckers, and when i contacted them, they told me that they are available in white (special order). i think that they'd be great in a jag (and look great too).

Not a bad idea. Delano has also been pretty good about custom orders, so if you want the pickups in something like a "soapbar" shape (i.e. closer to the OP's bass) they may be able to do it for you. As long as it's a shape that they already make for another pickup armature, it should be possible.

It plays very well..the sounds...well, there are 6 distinct pickup combinations. You have a 5 way Strat style pickup selector and a 6th option that you engage with the tone knob (which besides being a normal tone knob, is also a push/pull knob). So far, I have been able to get a P bass tone, a J bass tone and a few tones that are a combination as well as an aggressive Stingray-ish tone...all in all, a great bass so far.

Wow...very nice...I almost went for the cream colored one myself but given that I was waiting for a factory second, I ended up with the sunburst...(not that I'm dissappointed!)

It's coming..probably at winter NAMM. When I got my Shifter 4, there was a Godin product catalog in the case and low and behold, there was a picture of a Shifter 5 alongside the Shifter 4...

It's great...I mean, it's not a new concept (the 3 pickups) but Godin has done it very well. With 6 distinct pickup combinations, you have a lot of tonal latitude. It's passive so you won't get a really modern/hi-fi sound out of it without external help but it plays like butter, balances very well when standing or sitting and sounds really great...AND, it's made in Canada and assembled in Berlin, New Hampshire..all for well under 1k...
