Which Hipshot did you go with? Was it an A-style? We're always looking for recs for the LK5 specifically because of the funky string spacing. Also we need some pics!

I think the bass looks better with black pearl fret dots and a black mini toggle.

Agree! The black dots on maple looks sweet! Same for the toggle.

Does the tone get in the P-bass ball park? Bart P-bass ball park that is.

Not as much as a true P-Bass but close enough for me especially at less than 7-1/2 lbs.

So I used the bass last night with my Subway DI-II Preamp pedal and the QSC K12.2. I had compliments on the sounds but I wasn’t 100% happy with it. I’ll mess with that combo in a couple of days.

Tonite I used it with the Mesa 800D and a Greenboy fEARless F112 and it did not disappoint. I could have played all night with the tone I dialed in. It was deep, punchy and articulate.
I absolutely loved it. Add to that the lightweight and a lightning fast neck and it’s a combination that’s very hard to beat.
The new Bart preamp arrived today so my next move is to install it.

The Bart preamp is installed and it)s even better. If you’re looking for a medium scale bass (32”), look no further. This LK4 is phenomenal.
