Is the hardware gold, or is that just a reflection of the overhead lighting?It started as a kit from Solo, and now it's one of one. I feel like it has finally "arrived" because I just had it out jamming with some friends and it performed great. It's a real bass now! Wilkinson pickups, Ernie Ball Beefy 65-130s with BEAD tuning, a stutter mute, and a serial/parallel switch
Building it has been so rewarding that I feel like building another one too, but different. I would highly recommend it to anyone out there considering building one of your own. Go for it!
It's a little rough in spots, but it's perfectly imperfect, and it will do nicely. I'm very happy with it. Close enough for Jazz, as they say

Oh, that would be a reflection from the room I guess. The hardware is all chrome, which, except from the bridge, came with the kit.
I’m not always a fan of gold hardware, but I think it would work with that blue. Can’t go wrong with chrome either, it’s a cool looking bass either way!
I agree, re: gold hardware. Maybe someday? No rush at all for that. The only parts on my list of things to change, at the moment, are the string retainer (3 instead of 2) and then probably upgrade the tuners next. Right now I'm enjoying it the way it is. Thanks for the feedback
