NBD! My first DIY kit! 5 string semi hollow

Was gassing for a 5 string on a waaaay too low budget and wanted something radically different from the herd of fenders i already have....mission accomplished!

It's from pit bull guitars in Australia. Great quality kit and very good customer service. The cheapy soapbars will need upgrading eventually but are hot and grindy, they just lack a little definition and punch.

It's wired permanently for 2 channel operation on a stereo jack and is very versatile this way sound wise!

I wasn't expecting a boutique quality instrument, just a serviceable 5-string and a fun project to work on. I wound up with a bass I really like with custom touches for less than $300!!

34" scale (feels and plays like 40" lol)
Ebony fretboard, maple neck and basswood body with birch ply top. Stained with ebony varathane and finished with wipe on poly.

How did you install the wooden bridge? Did you glued it to the body? Or drill? Thanks I hope you can help me out as I want to build this bass too in fretless

Thank you!!! I love this bass! The bridge is floating...no drilling or holes.
I didn't like not having my normal ra

nge of adjustment for independent strings so I went ahead and designed my own "floating saddles" shoot me a PM and wr can discuss via email if you like.

The saddles finished and on the bass. It really has no bridge at this point. However, because the saddles have steel bolts and washers inside, collectively they weigh over twice as much as the wooden saddle from the kit. The neck dive is more neck "dip" but I've contemplated putting additional weight around the rear strap button area.

I have been looking for something just like this. I built my own from scratch, but I made the body so big that the bass was too heavy to play for long. I don't have access to a shop equipped well enough to build a quality body. But I am willing to remove all the high quality parts from home built to put into a good body. the only problem I see is that you got that from pit bull you said. Well the only version they sell now is with a fretless neck.

I have a high quality neck I can mount, but i am afraid to count on it fitting, with the kit being a string through design with tune o matic style bridge(originally).
is it possible to get the neck dimensions or i can give the ones from the neck i intend to use if you would be willing to verify for me.
