I may be getting a big ol' Epi Korina Explorer ...and a new financial credit rating above -0 for the first time in my life lol since zzounds does easy peasy auto-credit installments. supposedly I get this trapezoidal canoe paddle on the 7th. another encouraging aspect is the newer slim neck profile, we'll see if that works out, not thrilled with pau ferro but hoping for a figured grain body top. aurally, I dig the PUs and their slightly different placements may prove better than per my T-Bird, to even equal that bass would be an impossible task, fingers crossed! no pics cos I don't believe it's happening, I've threatened this purchase for over a year having come oh so close but no cigar more than once, and no doubt it will arrive in pieces. prove me wrong!

took an extra coupla days but it came safely dbl boxed and looking as hoped. 1st set neck bass.
not as light as expected, thicker body, feels proportionally correct, no reach issues, comfy. had to settle temporarily for a new / bright set of DR ss flats that suck so far but at least I can continue dialing her in happily, as is too typical the PUs need extra padding to raise to my taste so there's more work. with a nicely reshaped neck the chunky demon has been slayed to something akin to my #1 the Ex's T-Bird cousin, a very cool surprise, now to get the action a sliver lower. tho string spacing is wider it narrows quick. another positive is a decent looking fretboard, with an oiling the pau ferro will improve that end tho a matching black board would still be perfs. sound wise I'm easily warming to it as things settle in, definitely a variation of what my 'Bird projects with it's own beefy thing going on. the only negative is new car panic in trying to keep this leggy babe from it's first doink. proud papa pics when I get more motivated lol it doesn't feel like I've spent the most for a bass than ever, the pay plan surely helps but knowing I'll never chase after dream vintage ba$$es again when these 2 do all I need these days is a clencher. this purchase was a vanity / monkey off my back thing and I lucked out with it.

baby oil tamed the DR noise a bit but the faux rounds bumps they absurdly incorporate onto the tape are annoying/distracting, need LaBellas asap. action lowered, PUs raised, all systems GO!
