NBD/no self control

So I have been wanting one of these for a while now. But I could never find one in store to try out. However I finally found one in store and man is it fun to play! Such a unique sound and feel. I love how it almost sounds like an upright yet its so small. Then due to the fact that I seem to have very little self control when it comes to instruments I had to buy it. I figured it would be an early christmaspresent to myself haha

PWRL-I dont think any of the models come with pick guards. Although I think a tort guard would look kinda cool.

Not really metal, but I played my Kala at a big outdoor gig during Black by Pearl Jam and Plush by Stone Temple Pilots. Sounded killer!

Ahhh. The famed Kala Ubass. Never saw one before. But I have GAS now. Must try one myself.

They sound awesome. I don't know if it necessarily sounds like an upright. It has it's own unique, deep, deep tone.

That's usually the Manhattan store, too.

I tried the solidbody 5-string one. Big sound, but it decays too fast. Not really my thing.

They sound fantastic. Played with a pick it sounds like recordings from the sixties and seventies. It's the most old-school tone I've ever managed to create. I don't have one yet, but I will.

I wish they werent so expensive. But upright tone in that package with the electric option is really awesome. Id love to play in a jazz ensemble with one!
